Revelation, the seals, trumpets and bowls
|
I read what you wrote about the seals and the trumpets and the bowls overlapping and I’m wondering when is the antichrist going to set himself up during that time? When is there going to be that time where they say peace peace and that’s one great destruction comes?
Reply from JPN: Hi, in Revelation he comes forth right from the first seal, as a man of peace, riding a white horse (Rev 6:1). The timing of 1 Thes 5:1-3 isn't defined and may have more than one fulfillment. One aspect pertains I believe to the first two seals. The world will be in awe of this man initially. He will seem like a man with all the answers. They will be expecting peace and safety. But it isn't long before this false peace turns to wars and destruction with the 2nd seal, the red horse. Israel too, having made a covenant with him, will be at ease, feeling secure. That too will change at the mid point when they have to flee for their lives. Hope that helps. The good news for believers is that we are not of that day, we will not see the day of wrath (1 Thes 5:4-5, 9).

I just surfed here on your website. The information that is provided for this commentary is fully informational! Do you have an e-mail list where I can start receiving e-mails about your Bible readings?
Reply from JPN: We just did Daniel 3 in our Bible study group so I will be updating all of the Daniel studies soon. And yeah, chapter 2 is an amazing chapter! We don't have an email group at this stage sorry. Everything is on the website. Blessings!

I tonight searched on Google for some comments on Paul's prayer for the Colossian Church. The words Revelation and Reflection caught my eye. So helpful for my preparation for tomorrows Bible Study. Thank you so much for such an accurate teaching. My group will be enriched by your teaching.
Reply from JPN: Thanks - glad it helped and may God bless your Bible study group!

I had to come on here and write you to tell you that this has helped me more than I can express. I was searching for a verse about God being for me and the Lord led me to your website and through that and through study and through prayer reading this article you wrote I encountered the love of my life Jesus Christ he came and wiped away my tears that my heart was shedding!!
But I also wanted to tell you that I really enjoyed the character behind the writing, you know from time to time the authors character seems to peer through their writing and I just wanted to tell you I have enjoyed it! Reply from JPN: That is really kind.. thank you! That particular study was written during a challenging time so I'm really pleased that God was able to use it to help you. May God bless!

Revelation 10:1-2, 5-6 KJV
[1] And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire: [2] and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth, [5] And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, [6] and sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, Reply from JPN: Thanks Neena. There are differing opinions on the angel in Rev 10 as I mentioned in my study on that chapter. Some see this angel as depicting Jesus but I don't. Blessings.

Thank you for these studies. They are very helpful and easy to follow. I love the way you connect scripture to scripture.
Reply from JPN: Thanks - and yeah, God does an amazing way of connecting scripture with scripture and story with scripture... right throughout Old and New testaments. Gotta love it!

Jonah Chapter 4

Wow! I have been working on Jonah lessons for Kids Church and most "kids stories" end with the heaving of Jonah and sometimes the repentance of the people of Nineveh. I was thrilled to read your study and the way it points to God's compassion and love for all, and the selfish heart of Jonah. Seriously... swallowed by a fish and you still don't get it? I am grateful for your last paragraph... we can only hope that Jonah learned his lesson; what a lesson for us! There is no one outside the bounds of His salvation. So glad God led me to this site!
Reply from JPN: Nice! Glad you liked it and thanks for the great comment!

Tribulation

Hello,
I’ve been a Born Again Christian since 1979. Just interested on others opinion about whether we go up to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ before, during or after the seven years of Tribulation? I’ve always had the opinion that The Lords church would go up before, but now I’m mistaken? Thank you. Reply from JPN: Hi, yes, I believe in a pre-Trib rapture (Rev 3:10, 1 Thes 1:10, 5:1-9, Luke 31:36, John 14:1-3) and various other scriptures. There are plenty of Q&A's surrounding this here... blessings!

Do gentiles have to keep the feast of the Lord
|
1 Corinthians 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
He wasn't talking to Jews. Paul was talking to the Corinthians. Were they Jews? Reply from JPN: Hi, no, the Corinthians weren't Jews but Greeks - as I'm sure you know. 1 Cor 5:8 speaks of how believers 'keep the feasts' today. Not in the old way, with the old literal leaven and outward observance once a year, but as a continual celebration with unleavened lives. We aren't to be focused on 'the shadow' but the substance/reality 'in Christ' (Col 2:16-17). I trust that's your focus. Blessings!

I was listening to Tony Pearce and his latest update. I'm a Brit so familiar with his teaching and saw him talk in Swansea. He mentioned your site and how you heard him 20years ago and have been following him since. Very pleased to find your site and to have a look at your resources. Blessings in Yeshua
Reply from JPN: Hi Penny, ha... yeah he emailed in to say that he liked something I had written and was going to use it in his talk, and I wrote back saying that maybe he likes it because I used to read and enjoy his prophecy articles 20+ years back! I haven't been following him since then but it is great to see him still faithfully teaching and writing all these decades on... and still spot on with prophecy and what is happening in this world! Good on him!

The wise and foolish bridesmaids

I’ve recently found your site in my desire to find out more about the Jewish feasts and their fulfilment, thank you so much for your clear teaching on this !
I do have a question I wonder if you can help me with - in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins, if the virgins represent Christians, then who does the bride represent? Thank you so much, Diana Reply from JPN: Hi, 'technically' the virgins are the friends of the bride (the Church) so the wise virgins with the oil speak of those saved (Tribulation and/or Jewish saints) at the 2nd coming of Jesus. But... parables often have a main point and the main point Jesus is making is 'Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.' So we sell ourselves short if we say 'well, it's not for us'. The central message and application is for us now and those in the future - it applies for all who need to watch for the Lord's coming. Hope that helps. See here:

I am so ministered to by your thoughtful and intentional scriptural references to His glory from beginning to end. I so wish there were a way to print this off to study deeply. Is that available anywhere? Thank you SO much!
Reply from JPN: Hi, you can print it from your browser. Most browsers/Operating system will have a Print to PDF option these days. So you can print to PDF to have it as a file on your computer. Hope this helps.

Hello, thank you for your reply. You helped me see that my current desire to build a relationship with God, believe in Christ, and follow His teachings is more important than my original reasons for following Him. You mentioned that a believer fears God's wrath in a Q&A called "How do I know I truly believe?" , but I’m unsure if I fear Him. However, I don’t want to disappoint God or diminish Jesus's sacrifice for my sins. I genuinely want to obey the Lord and develop that relationship. If I don’t feel fear or am unsure about it, does that make me less of a believer or not a believer at all?
Reply from JPN: Hi Shan, that is great that you can see that. Follow Him and don't look back! The fear of God that believers have is a reverential fear, one that seeks to honor Him and put Him first. The believer doesn't fear God's wrath for themselves for they have been delivered from His wrath (John 3:36, Rom 5:9, 1Thes 5:9) into a place of life and no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Jn 3:16-18, 5:24, Rom 8:1). Praise God for that! Keep thanking Him for all He has done as you walk in reverence and humility before Him. Blessings!

Question

Hi, I'm a Hindu by birth, but I recently converted to Christianity. All of this is extremely new to me. My path was supported by one of my friends, but I'm afraid that I selected this route because of them rather than the Lord. It scares me and I detest the idea of picking this route because of my friend. I fear that I am not a believer, even though I truly want to connect with the Lord. I'm terrified and perplexed. What should I do?
Reply from JPN: Hi, whatever your initial motivation, you have still ended with the right decision! And it could well be that the Lord used this person to help you come. So whether your motives were 100% or not at the beginning, what the Lord Jesus would say to you now is 'Do you believe in Me?' and 'Will you follow Me?' So be totally honest and real with the Lord Shan. Tell Him why you have come but also that you want to follow, learn and have a strong faith in Him. He created you and He loves you. Never underestimate His grace to those that walk humbly before Him and desire to know Him. You have made the right decision Shan. Press on. Don't look back but press on into all that He has for you! (Phil 3:12-14) Blessings!

Reply from JPN: Amen! And in Ezek 36-39 God says multiple times that He will make His name and power known to the world through the nation of Israel. Not because they are worthy, but because God is faithful to His promises and will show Himself holy!
