Greetings to Jesus Plus Nothing from a Parkside Church Member

Excellent teaching and very timely for me as I am at present in the Book of Colossians at our Wednesday Night Bible Study. The information is very well presented and I thank everyone on staff at J. for their thoughtful and spiritual discernment.

Our church here in Ohio was the first new church plant out of Parkside in Bainbridge Ohio, Alistair Begg and his pastoral staff rescued us about 16 years ago and we are now part of the Parkside family.
Reply from JPN: Thank you and greetings to the Parkside Church! Glad the Colossians study helped and hope your Bible study goes well.

Smile Thank you so much for your site. I discovered it while doing research for a message I would speak at my church. It is refreshing to know that there are still believers who are sticking to God’s holy inspired Word without deviating in order to please society. Loved your statement of faith. I was amazed because it matched my small independent church’s statement of “What We Believe, Teach and Live” almost word for word. God bless you and your ministry.
Reply from JPN: Awesome. Glad you like it and yeah, gotta stick to the Word! Great that you have a church that does that. Blessings!

Do you think the church has failed and continues to fail? We don't evangelize anymore like Billy Graham, Reinhard Bonnke, how will they know the truth unless we evangelize?
Can the church through prayers evangelism avert or minimise some of the spoken words. Example bring the catholic believers to the true light. Do you think recent remarks by pope to bless gay couples is a back door to allow the sin in church? My friends though catholic confess lordship of Christ so they are saved? It's in some practices and believes we part, right? Being in Italy I bleed to see them bow to Mary, san pio etc
Reply from JPN: Hi, there are a few questions there. I have written an answer on my site:

I was wondering about the rapture if it would be a mid rapture, instead of a pre rapture. Because I know the church would not go through God's wrath. But it does not say that we won't go through the anti christ wrath. So I was wondering if we will still have to endure the anti Christ wrath. Maybe the rapture will happen after he (anti christ)breaks his covenant halfway through the tribulation?
Reply from JPN: Hi, thanks for the note and question. Personally I see a clear division in Revelation between the Church age, as seen in the letters to the churches, and what comes 'after this' from Rev 4:1 onwards - with a type of the rapture in 4:1 before any judgment occurs. All the seal, trumpet and bowl judgments are from God and are His wrath. There is more about this here if interested:

I came upon you site while doing research. I was so happy to read you believe in Jesus + nothing, So many churches and sites on line preach and teach salvation + works. They do not rightly divide the word as instructed in 2 Timothy 2:15, They do not understand when studying scripture you always need to ask these questions: who is writing this, who is the audience being written to, is it about prophecy or the mystery. I have been a student of the Bible for about 45 years and just 7 years ago did I finally understand right division. Keep up the good work. Many people are being led astray.
Reply from JPN: Thanks. "My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus’ name."

I absolutely delighted to find your insightful article on the book of Philemon! I am 73 years old, and have known the Lord since age 19. Some days I can be more active, and other days I’m on the sofa. I overdid yesterday, and was on the couch listening to Bible teacher Chuck Smith on YouTube teaching (amazing, WONDERFUL expository teaching!) on Romans 4:1-5. He mentioned the book of Philemon and story of Onesimus, and I found myself particularly pondering the words, “Charge that to my account.” Wondered if anyone had written on the deeper meaning of this book. Loved your article! God bless
Reply from JPN: Love it! Congrats on over 50 years a Christian and yeah I like Chuck Smith, and many other Calvary Chapel pastors/teachers, as well. Glad you liked the study on Philemon - it is a wonderful book once you see the relevance to Jesus and the Christian life - one of my favorites. Thanks so much for your encouraging message!

Sorry there are several places in the bible that state not all believers are going in the rapture. Jesus told 6 of 7 churches in Rev chapt 2-3 that they need to repent, except Philadelphia which he told he will spare the hour of trial & some in Thyatira & Sardis will walk with me. He wants blemish, and wrinkle free when he comes he said the rest will have to be victorious by the end of the tribulation. Same with the 10 Virgins parable he said 50% 5 of 10 where not ready with the oil. Also the Wedding Banquet parable, half not worthy too busy with field& business. He told his believers be ready.
Reply from JPN: Hi, yeah I think 3 out of the last 4 churches will in large part enter the Tribulation which is what I have taught in the Revelation series - because they are not born again. Not because they came short of being 'wrinkle free' in their personal lives. Thankfully, all born again believers have already 'been made perfect forever', 'through one sacrifice' (Heb 10:14) and because of this, we can believe His promise that He will present us 'without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ' (1 Thes 5:23-24, Jude 24, 1 Cor 1:8-9). Our glorification (at the rapture) is the completion of our salvation and is of the same grace that initially justified us. If it were conditional on being 'without blemish' and 'wrinkle free' in our personal lives, then neither you nor I would make it, and I don't personally know anyone that would. Blessings.

The two comings: the first at the 6th seal, The throne of God and the father is seen in the sky with Jesus the lamb. The final at Armageddon is Jesus on a horse with the armies of heaven. So I still believe the sign of the son of man is Rev. 6. The rapture happens, followed immediately by the sealing of the 144,000 Jews repent, the 7 year trib. begins, The seven angels blow their trumpets, The temple is built the two witnesses preach and are killed. 3.5 years later the wrath begins.
Reply from JPN: Hi, thanks though obviously I don't agree that the rapture is at the 6th seal or that the seals are currently open. I have written a few points on that here:
https://jesusplusnothing.com/series/post/is-rapture-6th-seal-and-have-seals-been-opened
Also bear in mind that the wrath of God is already spoken of and seen at the 6th seal (Rev 6:15-17) not 3 1/2 years later.

The online devotionals I was using for years came to an end in 2023 and in my search for new daily studies this past year, I came across your website. After exploring it for a couple months, I decided to commit to the daily devotionals and I absolutely love them! I can hardly wait to wake up early to see what God has for me each day. I also love the power of “quotes” so I don’t miss soaking in the famous quote that’s included at the beginning of each day. LOVE!

Thank you for what you provide. It’s an incredible blessing!
Reply from JPN: Hey that's great. The devotions are by Charles Spurgeon of course so are excellent. And glad you like the quotes.

Thank you Ian for the Spirit-led commentary on Isaiah 45:9 about the Potter and the clay. I want to read it again.
I totally get the idea of God being sovereign in every situation. For me, the challenge is, what am I to do in extremely trying circumstances? How does God want me to respond and react? Do we let people walk all over us or can we be firm, yet loving? I would welcome your thoughts on this. Thank you.
Reply from JPN: Thanks and yes, knowing how to respond is the challenge as not every situation is the same. But our first steps are the same. We commit all situations unto Him and we thank Him in everything (1 Thes 5:18), knowing that He works all things for our good. I find Psalm 37 especially helpful as well in difficult times so please read and meditate on this great psalm. Jesus was meek, but never weak. So after committing your ways unto God, tell Him that you don't know exactly how to react but that you are trusting Him and let the peace of God rule, or be the umpire, in what you do. I have written a bit about this near the end of this study if interested. May God bless and give you clarity.
