Why should we look forward to Heaven?

Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. (12) It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, (13) while we wait for the blessed hope--the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ

2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ...

The coming of the Lord is the blessed hope. It is the hope above all hopes. The word 'blessed' in the Greek is 'makarios' meaning 'supremely blest; by extension fortunate, well off, blessed, happy.' It is the happy hope! The fortunate and supremely blessed hope! Are there other scriptures that expressed this great desire to see the Lord's return? There certainly is!

Prudence inquired, 'And what is it that makes you desirous to go to Mount Zion?'
Christian replied, 'Why, it is there that I hope to see alive my Savior who hung dead on the cross. It is there that I hope to be rid of all those things that to this day are an annoyance to me. They say that in that place there is no death, and I will dwell there with the company that I like best. For, to tell you the truth, I love Him because He eased me of my burden. I am weary of my inward sickness. I desire to be where I will die no more, with a company that will continually cry, 'Holy, holy, holy!''
